“It’s sustainable for food. You can grow your food there, which it does, and you can graze agriculture, ”says McCarthy. “When you walk through the front door, there’s a 1,200 square foot greenhouse attached to the house, and that’s where a lot of the food can be grown. “

Because most of the materials used in the construction of the house are salvaged, the style is eclectic.

“He collected doors from different properties, and because this is such a big project, no two doors are the same. He collected them from various houses undergoing renovation in the region.

Although the house was finished a decade ago, the rustic touches give the house a vintage vibe.

“When you walk in it looks like an old Old West house, but not a new build. He looks really old and has all the charm, ”McCarthy says.

“The music studio is a lot of fun,” McCarthy says. “It’s acoustically perfect, and it was designed by a rocket scientist.”

A live performance studio that can accommodate an orchestra of 60 people includes a mixing room and four additional sound studios.

“The recording studio itself is home to so many people, and there are a lot of nooks and crannies where you get people to watch the recording studios,” says McCarthy. “It’s fun because there are so many interesting people coming in and out of the house.”

The music studio is attached to the main house by a walkway, and a small spiral staircase in the studio leads to what could be a sound engineer’s apartment.

Beyond the studio and main house, there is also a small caretaker unit, a writer’s shrine, and a three-car garage.

The second plot is nearly 50 acres, with a 2,407 square foot two bedroom home.

If hiking and nature tickle your musical muse, there are miles of hiking trails and ponds on the property.

“It just has a great view of Wilson Mountain, the top of the mountain that sits on Coors Can,” she says. “No one could ever build on one side, and then there are two ranches on each side that each have 2,000 acres each, so there is tremendous privacy.”

McCarthy says the property is extremely versatile.

“The owner would like to see the perfect buyer be someone who will carry on with the music in the house,” she says. “It would also be a fabulous home for a family that wants to bring in children, grandchildren and cousins. There is so much space available.
