BSNB Partners with Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank to Host 15th Contactless Drive-Through Pantry

BALLSTON SPA, NY (NEWS10) – The Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB), in coordination with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, is hosting its 15th Contactless Drive-Through Pantry on Tuesday, June 15, starting at 9:30 a.m. will be held at 990 State Route 67 in Ballston Spa.

The event is open to local families and those in need of food assistance. Supply will be on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

The food drive will consist of volunteer BSNB employees loading boxes of food into chests, following all CDC guidelines.

“BSNB’s support for the regional food bank and the global response to the increased needs caused by COVID has been extraordinary. They have provided generous funding to help us, but even more important and impressive is the personal involvement they have made in the effort to feed our neighbors in need. They coordinated, sponsored and managed countless drive-thru services, encouraged the general public to get involved, and provided emotional support to our staff during this trying year. We are very grateful for everything the BSNB team has contributed and thank them on behalf of our staff and the thousands of people they have helped feed, ”said Mark Quandt, Executive Director of the Regional Food Bank of Canada. northeastern New York State.

Thanks to the Regional Food Bank, 18,000 pounds of food are expected to be distributed at the event. Items include fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats, and non-perishable foods.

In addition, a series of twinning campaigns launched by the bank have generated donations from community members totaling $ 31,000, as well as assistance from BSNB, the regional food bank has reportedly received over $ 101,000 to date for help those facing food insecurity.

The Bank indicates that its last matching campaign will take place by June 15 and that donations received from the community will be matched up to a total of $ 5,000.
