Catherine H. Kieffer 84, of Halifax, was called home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Homer Hassinger; a sister, Elva Miller, and her husband of 61 years, Ralph Kieffer. She is survived by one sister, Jean Romaine Patton, of Halifax, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Carol Schaubhut (Stephen) of Dover, Pennsylvania; three sons, Miles Kieffer (Lori), David Kieffer (Tena) and Glenn Kieffer (Jan) all of Halifax. She was fortunate to have nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She loved baseball and was a loyal “Phillies” fan. She often watched “Jeopardy!” and “Antique Exhibition”. She enjoyed bird watching in the yard while working on her crossword puzzle. She looked forward to visits from family, friends and neighbors every day. Catherine was the published author of a book called “Loyalton Memories”. She researched, documented and recalled family genealogy spanning many generations. She was a life member and former president of the Gratz Historical Society. She was a life member of the female auxiliary Gratz VFW.
Catherine enjoyed cooking, cleaning, traveling and gardening. She has held positions in various agencies helping disadvantaged people find employment and purpose. She has also worked at the Pennsylvania Blue Shield, Halifax High School, the Pennsylvania Farmers Union and the retired Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. His family would like to warmly thank for all the care, both in medical establishments and at home, which provided him with as much comfort as possible.

A memorial service will be held for Catherine (Cassie) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 Church Street, Halifax (Fishersville) PA.
