A festive display of Christmas trees awaits visitors at Hershey Gardens in the Township of Derry.
The Christmas Tree Showcase fills the Milton and Catherine Hershey Conservatory with 8 foot Fraser trees decorated by local florists. A 14-foot poinsettia takes center stage.
The trees present a variety of styles and decor themes. With the purchase of a pair of special $ 2 glasses, kids will see something winter in the lights of each tree. The showcase runs daily from November 20 to January 2.
The Butterfly Atrium will also be decorated for the holidays.
Father Christmas will make an appearance at the Conservatory from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 4 and 11.
Singer / songwriter Christian Yeager will perform from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 4.
Harpist Sylvia Sweigart will perform from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on December 5.
The Garden Cottage will also be decorated with a ‘Christmas in the tropics’ theme, displaying Christmas trees decorated with ornaments made by local students from Fredericksburg Elementary School, Lower Dauphin Elementary School, Nature & Nurture Discovery School and St. Joan of Arc School.
Families can stop by the education center, located in the kindergarten, to make crafts during the holidays.
Crafty Christmas Creations, included in admission, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 20, 21, 27 and 28; December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 and 26; January 1 and 2.
Hershey Gardens is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, November 20 through January. 2. (closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.)
Tickets include admission to Hershey Gardens and the Interior Butterfly Atrium. Regular (13-61 years old): $ 13.50. Senior (62 and over): $ 12. Junior (3-12 years old): $ 9.50. Children aged 2 and under and Hershey Gardens members are free.
