Escambia County is seeking public input on how to spend American Rescue Plan Act funding.

The public is invited to submit comments to the Escambia County US Rescue Plan Investigation by 11:50 pm Thursday, September 30, 2021. The survey is available in English and Spanish online and at the community centers and libraries listed below. The results of the survey will be presented at a future meeting of the Committee of the Whole.

The US Rescue Plan (ARP) includes $ 61.7 million in direct local assistance for the recovery of Escambia County. The first half of the county award has been received, totaling $ 30.9 million. The second semester is comparable and will arrive about a year after the first installment. The Escambia County plan will follow the US Treasury Department’s interim final ARP rule, including allocating all funds by December 31, 2024 and completing all spending by December 31, 2026, as needed. . Escambia County recognizes the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the community and is committed to investing for economic recovery and reconstruction.
