Ms. Evelyn “Rebecca” Kesler Poole, 63, of Baldwin, Georgia, died on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center from a brief illness.
Ms Poole was born on March 13, 1958 in Stephens County, Georgia, to Gene and Aleene Stevens Kesler. She was predeceased by her son, Justin Bishop Poole, and a sister, Laura Jean Kesler; grandparents, OB and Evelyn Eubanks Stevens and JB Kesler and Alma Eubanks Kesler Anderson.
Ms Poole was a member of Line Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk for 27 years. It was Rebecca who started the first church bulletins and continued to print them for over 34 years. She has also served over the years in many other areas of the church, including teaching Sunday School and Holiday Bible School.
Rebecca was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known to her grandchildren as “Nana”. Rebecca loved sewing, photography, taking care of her flowers and genealogy.
Survivors include her nearly 43-year-old husband Johnny Poole of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Casey Sheriff, of Martin; grandsons, Jared and Jacob Sheriff, of Martin; brother, Beacher Kesler, of Commerce; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Reverend Jerrell Beatty and Reverend Brandon Crunkelton as officiant. Interment will follow at Line Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Kenneth McEntire as officiant.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
Flowers are optional; however, the family requests that briefs be filed at Gideon’s International Banks-Jackson Camp, PO Box 225, Commerce, Georgia 30529.
The following gentlemen will serve as porters: Jared Sheriff, Jacob Sheriff, Judson Irvin, Joseph Irvin, Chris Harper and Nick Irvin.
