A garden, “Full Circle” is a sanctuary of plants and sacred spaces. For 29 years, they have cultivated their garden space for relaxation, contemplation and meditation. They started breeding monarchs in 2006 and have let hundreds go since then. Hummingbirds are a regular guest enjoying a variety of perennial and annual flowers.

The “Snug” Garden takes its name from a playhouse that has been turned into a garden warehouse. The landscape features a mix of annuals and perennials – lemon balm, moon flower, hydrangea and hostas. Nestled in the garden is a statue of Saint Fiacre, patron saint of gardeners.

The “Conservation at Home” garden is a generous piece of land designated as the “Conservation @ Home” courtyard because the owners have used native woodland and grassland plants to develop a nature-friendly landscape. The shaded garden with winding natural paths presents many varieties of hostas and ground covers. The lot is home to many tree species including red oak and red oak, gray bark hickory, American beech, American elm, poplar, red bud and many more.

The “A Pinch of This & That” garden started 33 years ago with a lean maple tree in the garden and sunshine everywhere. As the yard has changed from sun to shade, the owner has accumulated many plants and landscaping from the neighbors over the years. “If someone splits a plant, I’ll try it. If a neighbor puts their patio furniture on the curb, we take it home and paint it. In fact, our backyard walk was the right one. our neighbor’s terrace. “

“The Garden Mom” is a whimsical family garden that combines formality and functionality. Two espalier apple trees, a raised vegetable garden or a vegetable garden with the icing on the cake: a suburban henhouse. The owner / blogger (thegardenmom.com) has created a landscape “more ornamental than a mini-farm,” she says, with an expansive shady garden and an English-style perennial border. There is also a “collection of roses dedicated to all the important women in my life”. It has more than 80 varieties of hostas and 20 varieties of clematis.

“Lynne’s Secret Garden” is a panoramic garden in a lush and colorful landscape, enhanced by a waterfall that flows into a pond spanning several backyards. Steps beside the falls lead to Piazza Del Mar (open square by the sea), a great place to congregate and admire the variety of annuals and perennials. Another vantage point, Luna Del Lago (moon over lake), was built by the owner “where you can fish, watch ducks or geese swim, or catch turtles sunbathing”.

A favorite plant is a short-lived 100-year-old antique white peony. “I’m also a huge fan of my grandmother’s favorite rose, a fully opened pink rose,” said the owner.
