“Everything we do this Texas cuisine, Texas barbecue. We go low and slow and we cook our brisket 14, 16 hours a day.”

SAN ANTONIO – Texas is known for its barbecue, and an Alamo City food truck serves sausage, brisket, and loaded potatoes weighing around four pounds.

Plot? Yeah, we were too.

So we had to visit them; they are called Brisket Boys BBQ. Their locations vary, but we found them on Montana Street near the Alamodome.

“Everything we do this Texas cuisine, Texas barbecue. We go low and slow and we cook our brisket 14, 16 hours a day. Everything is done with love,” said owner Soilo Castoreno.

Owning Brisket Boys is everything for him. He even has a tattoo that says “Barbecue” on his knuckles.

“Ask for what you want. We’ll give it to you. 100 percent. That’s how we ride,” Castoreno said.

They have buses full of people who visit them every week. Especially being mainly downtown, they serve many first responders.

“There are 80 coming at a time. And they are hungry. They are tired. And here I feed them at eight o’clock, nine o’clock in the evening. And they are almost in tears because they’re happy to see. , you know, that we are there to maintain them, ”Castoreno said.

And after eating here, there’s a good chance you’ll be full.

We have to try their brisket, which you will also find smacked with their sausage in their sandwich.

And then we splurged on their so called Beast Potato.

“It’s a potato full of brisket, sausage, pulled pork, sour cream cheese and butter. It’s a Texas-sized potato and, said and done, it weighs about. four pounds, ”Castoreno said.

But if you just need a little push instead, he told KENS 5 that their Breast Mac & Cheese is a new menu item.

“It’s really good,” Castoreno said.

He also said he wanted everyone to come and try their food.

“Texans help each other. And we’re never going to turn our backs on someone who is hungry, who is tired, for a meal,” Castoreno said.

He said when you drive here to order a plate, you help him live his dream. “It’s my pride and my joy there – the barbecue. Those four wheels over there are what keeps me going.”
