Fall is a great time to visit Bellingrath Gardens and Home. We have an exciting lineup of events in the works for October! Here are the details :
Scarecrows in the gardens, from October 11 to 31: Enjoy a whimsical display of scarecrows created by arts organizations, high schools, businesses and clubs. The scarecrows will be on display in the gardens from October 11 to 31. Guests will be invited to vote for their favorites and the winners will be announced at Boo in Bellingrath on Saturday 23 October. Admission is $ 14 for adults. and $ 8 for 5-12 year olds. Seasonal job fair, October 13: Bellingrath Gardens and Home will be holding a seasonal job fair from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13 at the Magnolia Café. Azalea Trail Maids in the Gardens, October 16 and 23: The Mobile Azalea Trail Maids will walk through the gardens and welcome guests on Saturday October 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday October 23 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. during Boo in Bellingrath. The appearances depend on the weather. ; guests are asked to call 251-973-2217 on their scheduled date to confirm an appearance.
Boo to Bellingrath: Saturday, October 23, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dress up your little ghosts and elves for a spooky Halloween night at Boo in Bellingrath on Saturday 23 October. The gardens will be filled with Halloween-themed inflatables, and local businesses and organizations will set up treat stations in the gardens to distribute candy and trinkets. The event will feature food trucks on the Great Lawn; a square of pumpkins; Spooky Story Time with the Mobile Public Library; and the Raptor Show of the Center for Environmental Studies! After a sleight of hand in the gardens, guests are invited to a screening of “Hocus Pocus†(classified PG) on the large lawn from 7 pm to 9 pm. Admission is $ 16 for adults and $ 10 for ages 5 to 12. Events to come
Fall Outdoor Cascading Chrysanthemums, November 1-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daily: Mum’s Word to Bellingrath Gardens and House in November 58e Annual Fall Outdoor Cascading Chrysanthemums, the country’s largest outdoor display of the season’s iconic flowers.
The gardens and home will be adorned with hundreds of colorful waterfalls of four-foot-long chrysanthemums on decks and balconies, as well as the traditional displays of moms in baskets and containers. Guests will also see columns of mummies and massive plants along the spectacular border of the Great Lawn, in the rich fall colors of red, yellow, bronze, lavender and white. Magical Christmas Gala in Lights, November 19, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m .: Celebrate the 26th anniversary of Magic Christmas in Lights and be among the first to see a brand new scene of lights created by the staff at Bellingrath. The gala will take place at the Live Oak Plaza and will include hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live entertainment. Cocktail dress is encouraged! The gala is a fundraiser for the Bellingrath Gardens and Home Foundation. Order tickets at bellingrath.org.
Magical Christmas in Light at Bellingrath Gardens and Home, from November 26, 2021 to January 5, 2022: It’s one of the best holiday light shows in the country, and it’s right here in Southern Alabama! Bellingrath Gardens and Home presents the 26th season of Magic Christmas in Lights in 2021. The dazzling nighttime exhibit features over 1,100 sets, 3 million lights and 16 scenes, shown on a walking tour through the estate 65 acre garden. The opening night will take place on Friday November 26 and the show will continue every evening, rain or shine, until January 5, 2022 (closed on Christmas Day).
