The Bushwick branches of the Brooklyn Public Library and the Ridgewood branch of the Queens Public Library provide the community with many useful programs for people of all ages. Due to the pandemic, all programs at all Queens Public Library branches are currently run virtually, as are most programs at Brooklyn Public Library branches.

The following are just a handful of the many programs currently available online at local public libraries.



Brooklyn Public Library Presents

Every month of the year, the Brooklyn Public Library offers free virtual arts and culture programs, including author talks, shows, music, films, visual art exhibits and more. Again. Through this virtual programming, the Brooklyn Public Library offers everything from conversations on relevant current affairs topics to history lessons on local landmarks, philosophy lessons, and author conversations, among others.

Brooklyn Public Library Course

Year round, the Brooklyn Public Library offers a wide variety of free classes for all ages. Its course and event calendar regularly lists useful courses for people from all walks of life, including citizenship exam preparation courses, information on available services for social support like housing assistance and food aid, computer software courses and much more.

Brooklyn Public Library Digital Resources and Databases

The idea of ​​browsing a library database can seem like a daunting task. However, the Brooklyn Public Library’s resource database is extremely user-friendly and useful. The library’s website makes it easy to search through tons of topics, including business and entrepreneurship, health and wellness, Brooklyn history, genealogy, and more.

Queens Public Library Programs

Programs never slow down at the Queens Public Library. Almost every day there are dozens of interactive classes, lectures and events for people of all ages, backgrounds and interests. Programs like the Queens Memory Project, a community archiving project, keep Queens history alive and teach community members about archiving, while College Readiness: Apply to College One Step at a Time will teach students everything they need to know about the college application process. Dozens of other programs cover a wide range of topics and interests.
