BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Join the Backyard Ax & Games in Palm Shores on Sunday, April 3 for a fundraiser for the Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism.
Starting at noon, the event will feature food, access to games, ax throwing and more. This event is a family event to benefit the autism community.
This event includes the chance to meet NFL legend and Flutie Foundation co-founder Doug Flutie and see his Batmobile.
All proceeds will help the Flutie Foundation continue to fund programs that help individuals and families affected by autism live full lives. To date, the Flutie 5k has raised over $1.5 million.
ABOUT THE FLUTIE FOUNDATION
Former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie and his wife Laurie started the Doug Flutie, Jr. Flutie Foundation for Autism in 1998 after their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at age three.
Their personal experience of raising a son with autism inspired them to help others on an equally long and difficult journey.
In its 20-year history, the Flutie Foundation has distributed more than $15 million to schools and organizations that provide clinical therapy, respite care, recreational programs, social skills training, support for employment and more for people with autism.
The Flutie Foundation also provides educational technology tools, adaptive camp scholarships, safety equipment, and direct support to families through its partnerships and special initiatives.
