Kea Kids News spoke with Malachi Kurei, who paints epic moko designs on the humble gumboot.

Kea Kids reporter Tanira Karauria (11) found out why Kurei chose rubber boots to express his artistic side.

“My family and I love rubber boots and we thought it would be a unique area that no one else would be interested in.”

Moko has always been a passion for Kurei. He used to draw moko on his arms in school.
