The Badgers and Notre Dame in 2017 announced a two-game football streak for Lambeau Field in 2020 and Soldier Field in 2021.

The University of Wisconsin and Notre Dame quickly pledged to postpone the 2020 football game at Lambeau Field which was canceled due to the pandemic.

It’s done, said Badgers sporting director Barry Alvarez.

“We postponed it. We will announce it soon,” Alvarez said on his May 12 radio show. “Notre Dame was able to clear a date, we were able to clear a date and shake things up. We’re going to play that.”

Alvarez, who is less than six weeks away from retiring as sporting director, has not disclosed a date or season for the reworked game at Green Bay. UW has its full non-conference program during the 2027 season, with the exception of one opening in 2026.

There’s also the chance that UW and Notre Dame will move to other games to host an early reunion. Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy said last year the parties are considering 2022 as an option.

The Badgers have three non-conference openings per season; games scheduled for 2022 will be played against Washington State, New Mexico State and Illinois State, all at Camp Randall Stadium. Spokesmen for those schools said they were unaware of any changes to plans for 2022.
