Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise’s Most Cursed Drawings

Searching for inspiration for the design of Animal Crossing on Reddit and Twitter can be extremely daunting, as these social platforms are inundated with beautiful islands and homes. I am regularly struck down by the New Horizons players who create HGTV level masterpieces, using the new design tools – like sheet music and varnish – which are available after the update, and with the addition of the Happy home paradise DLC. But there are also those of us who have grabbed a copy of paradise, and decided, “Ah, yes, it’s time for absolute mayhem.”

paradise, which has players designing vacation homes for the villagers, is basically up for deception. Of course, you have to get a villager’s approval on a design before moving on to the next client – but the “scoring” system is fairly permissive. Because the passage only requires you to have the three key elements requested by the villager, you are free to do whatever you want with the rest of the house. I myself am guilty of taking liberties with this, having created atrocities such as “Sword Yard” and “Personal SoulCycle Studio”. And I’m not the only one: players have created extremely fuzzy interiors (cursed, but blessed) for their villagers.

First of all, there is nothing more inspiring than a simple design choice, made absolutely impactful. It’s practically Thiebaud-esque:

Harry is the perfect villager to cast a cursed glance, as he asks for a “Messy Mansion”. Many players interpret this as a bachelor apartment filled with trash. On the contrary, it’s even harder to achieve on a platform designed to make everything look cute:

Players also take a creative license with the design paradise facilities. Why create a cute hospital, when you could create one that is absolutely terrifying?

Go ahead and wreak havoc, comrade Happy home paradise players.
