These recipes are made from ingredients that gardeners probably already have on hand, including some things they may be used to throwing away.

Epsom Salt Fertilizer
To make this fertilizer, dissolve one tablespoon of Epsom salt in five liters of water.

Once dried, sprinkle the soil around the base of any acid-loving plants.
It works because coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen, magnesium and potassium, essential nutrients for plants.

It can be used liberally and often to water all plants.
It works because the water used in aquariums is full of nitrogen and other nutrients that plants need to thrive.
Aquarium water can be used in place of any other type of fertilizer.
