Community assistance network begins pantry renovation in Baltimore County – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The Baltimore County Community Assistance Network began renovations to its pantry in Dundalk on Wednesday.

The new pantry will feature a customer choice set up to provide residents with a “more dignified experience” while receiving catering services.

“This new pantry will allow us to serve 25% more residents of Baltimore County, as well as allow visitors to the pantry to stay dignified while meeting their needs,” said Mitch Posner, executive director of Community Assistance Networks.

The renovations will add cutting edge technology with a supermarket feel to allow residents to choose their own foods.

The community support network has been essential for struggling Baltimore County residents during the pandemic. They saw a 40 percent increase in visitors to the pantry.

In addition, they increased their food distribution from 50 pounds to 100 pounds per family.
