DEAR SUNSHOTS: St. Mary’s Nutrition Center is hosting a learning session on its new Community Food Center from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26 at 208 Bates Street in Lewiston. The new center will be located on Pine Street, next to Kennedy Park.

The learning session will provide people with the opportunity to experience and engage in an exciting vision of a vibrant multi-use community space that includes a low cost, cooperatively managed grocery store. store, shared commercial kitchen, shared food storage and cafe.

The Community Food Center will increase access to healthy food, provide storage and processing opportunities for local small producers and farmers, provide skills development opportunities and open up employment and ownership opportunities for members of the community. community.

This project is made by, for and by the members of Lewiston-Auburn and needs your voice and ideas to bring it to life!
